Treating Doctor – Dr Manisha Acharya

Mr Khaleed Hussain, a 41-year-old dedicated farmer from Sambal District, Uttar Pradesh, has always been the pillar of his family. As the sole breadwinner, he supports his three daughters and young son through his hard work in the fields. However, his life took a sharp turn when an ordinary day at work led to a serious eye injury.
While working on his farm, Mr Khaleed noticed an insect entering his eye. Over time, he began to experience severe redness, watering and pain in his left eye. Despite seeking medical help in nearby towns like Islam Nagar and Chandausi, his symptoms persisted. He was diagnosed with a corneal ulcer in his left eye, but the treatments he received did not provide relief. His condition worsened, and he was advised to undergo evisceration – a procedure that involves the removal of eye contents, leaving him deeply discouraged.
A New Hope: Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital
Feeling demotivated, Mr Khaleed learned about Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital from his fellow villagers. Known for its exceptional eye care services, the hospital seemed like a beacon of hope. He decided to visit, and upon arriving in the emergency department, he was treated immediately.
At Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Mr Khaleed was diagnosed with fungal keratitis, a serious fungal infection of the cornea. Unlike previous treatments, this time he was placed on a rigorous medication plan and instructed to come in for regular follow-ups. His condition was managed carefully, with an emphasis on precautionary measures.
A Positive Outcome
After diligent care and consistent follow-up, Mr Khaleed’s condition improved significantly. His fungal infection was brought under control and his vision was restored, saving him from the drastic step of evisceration. Today, Mr Khaleed has resumed his work as a farmer and is leading a happy life. His treatments have been successfully completed, and he has been advised to stop all medications.
With renewed hope and vision, Mr Khaleed is grateful for the care he received at Dr.Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, where his journey from despair to healing became a reality.
