New Delhi, Chauhan Patti: Life took a dramatic turn for 58-year-old Munna Lal, an autorickshaw driver from North East Delhi, when he developed severe cataracts in both eyes, leaving him completely blind. With a Morgagnian cataract in his right eye and a mature cataract in the left, Munna Lal found himself unable to work.

Having lost his first wife to cancer, Munna Lal later re-married and now lives with his second wife and their son. He struggled to make ends meet after an accident a year ago left him wheelchair-bound. With no other source of income, his wife took up household work in other homes to support the family.

However, hope arrived when Munna Lal underwent free cataract surgery under a medical camp led by Dr Rishabh Gupta. The surgery on his right eye was successful, significantly restoring his vision. Overjoyed with the results, he expressed deep gratitude to the medical team for giving him a second chance at life.

Now, with improved vision, Munna Lal is optimistic about returning to work and regaining his independence. An ardent lover of classical music, he finds solace in melodies as he looks forward to a brighter future.
